House Coertse

First African Claddings (FAC) recently manufactured and installed 130m2 of fibre cement cladding at Waterfall Village near the now well-known Mall of Africa.

Tectiva TE20 fibre cement of the Equitone range was used for this project.  The steel backing frames as well as the round steel corners were manufactured in Cape Town with final assembly done on site. The specially imported SikaTack adhesive system was used for the adhesion of the fibre cement to the backing frames, allowing a smooth surface without visible fasteners. There are two sliding folding door sections, totaling 36 meters.  A specially designed Hillaldam railing system was used for this purpose.

The small circle design pattern was created by routed holes on the whole cladding area on the fibre cement and laser cut in the steel corners.

The architectural firm on this project, was Earthworld Architects.
